Lily Allen Name-Drops Pop Rivals In “Sheezus”: Watch the Video

The release of Lily Allen‘s third album “Sheezus” is just a few weeks away so the singer treated fans by releasing the feisty title track.

When the controversially honest singer revealed the name of her new album critics immediately assumed she was poking fun at Kanye West and his self-appointed moniker “Yeezus”. However, on the title track Allen turns her attention to the leading ladies of pop and declares “Give me that crown, bitch / I want to be Sheezus.”

The star-studded chorus name-drops RihannaKaty PerryLady Gaga and praises the hell out of 17-year-old Lorde – and it may be the best pop chorus Lily has ever written. Whilst it may initially seem as though she is “throwing shade” at competition, this is not a diss track.

Definitely our favourite track so far. Pre-order “Sheezus” now before its May 5 release and you’ll get the song immediately.
