Lady Gaga has made a triumphant return to form with the release of “G.U.Y.: An ARTPOP Film“.
The two-part film features three songs from the singer’s latest album – “ARTPOP“, “Venus” and the main event “G.U.Y.” The short film – directed by the singer herself – is Gaga at her best: high-fashion, high-concept and filled with pop culture references without the paint-puking, self-pity or pretentiousness.
The “G.U.Y” sequence is by far the best visual that Gaga has delivered since “Bad Romance“, which says it all. From the lavish set-ups to the racy choreography and her Donatella Versace weave to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ cameos it is absolute pop perfection.
It’s a friendly reminder of why Lady Gaga became so famous. With a good pop song accompanied by innovative visuals like this, it’s hard to resist.
“ARTPOP” is available on iTunes now.
