As the anticipation for her forthcoming third album reaches boiling point, Lily Allen has premiered the music video for its second single “Air Balloon“.
The ode to getting high is old-school Allen with its nursery rhyme tune and tongue-in-cheek lyrics – produced by hit-maker Shellback – which makes for a guaranteed hit, surely. Although, the 28-year-old singer had a lot to live up to with its video as she set the bar pretty high with the controversial visual for her previous hit, “Hard Out Here“.
Whilst the video isn’t as in-your-face as its predecessor, it is perhaps more enjoyable – and gets better with every watch, which is always a bonus. Due to director That Go‘s brilliant camerawork, the entire visual seems weightless; whether it be when Allen is stroking zebras in the middle of a South African field, surrounded by human-size mushrooms or floating in space.
“Air Balloon” will be released March 2. (UK)
