Rumours have been swirling for months that Shakira‘s comeback single would feature her label mate Rihanna, and today they rumours were confirmed.
Whilst the ‘She Wolf‘ singer hasn’t yet made an official announcement for her comeback single, Rihanna caused a stir this morning on Twitter when she retweeted a fan’s tweet revealing the title of the song: ‘Can’t Remember To Forget‘. Hours later, Roc Nation’s number one “bad gal” revealed that the song will be available on iTunes on January 13th – just 7 days away.
‘Can’t Remember To Forget‘ will inevitably become a hit simply due to the superstars singing it but it shall only become a certified classic if executed correctly. It will be Shakira’s first single to be released in two years since becoming a mother and, whilst a lot rides upon the lead single’s success, it already sounds like a winner – her last album ‘Sale el Sol‘ performed weaker than her previous releases.
Our fingers are crossed for this exotic pair to release 2014’s first hip-shaking, belly-dancing-friendly and twerkable anthem: think of a faster and more light-hearted ‘Beautiful Liar‘ (Shakira’s 2007 duet with Beyoncé) with incredible vocals and a saucier video. This could be iconic.
The mum-of-one will return to the next season of The Voice US to replace Christina Aguilera, which will allow her to promote her new material very easily in the US.
