Modern-day Queen of Pop Britney Spears has revealed the album cover for her upcoming eighth studio album ‘Britney Jean‘.
Without any fuss or Twitter competition countdown, the 31-year-old icon simply unveiled the black-and-white cover art with a post on Twitter. The artwork is a headshot of a seemingly nude Spears with minimal make-up, with the only colour on the cover being from the Vegas-style sign reading ‘Britney Jean‘. All in all, it may be simple but it is a lot better than the atrocious ‘Femme Fatale‘ cover.
As we should all know by now, ‘Britney Jean‘ features the singer’s most personal material to date. Despite the aggressive EDM flavour of its lead single ‘Work Bitch‘, the album is said to consist mainly of mid-tempo tracks and it will be the first album that Spears has co-written on every single track.
Britney has also revealed today that the album’s second single is the highly-anticipated song ‘Perfume‘, co-written by Sia and the singer herself. The song will be made available on iTunes on November 5 with the album’s pre-order.
The ‘Toxic‘ singer has also wrote a touching letter to her fans about the record and the inspiration behind it, which can be read on her website now.
It’s nice to see that things are finally starting to happen with ‘Britney Jean‘. We love the artwork and cannot wait to hear ‘Perfume‘ – it’s already been claimed to be a potential “career song” – next month!
