Lady Gaga truly is back on top form.
The cooky singer flirts with the urban genre she once commanded on her debut album ‘The Fame‘ (see: ‘Paper Gangsta‘, ‘Eh Eh‘) on her brand new song ‘Do What U Want‘.
The R. Kelly-assisted track begins with a throbbing electro bass before transforming into a luscious R&B jam that doubles as a Rihanna-esque “clapback” to critics and a 90s-flavoured sex anthem. As if this wasn’t great enough – the pair’s vocals are absolutely outstanding on the song.
‘Do What U Want‘ is the first of three promotional singles to be released ahead of Gaga’s third album ‘ARTPOP‘ is released on November 11. Within hours of release the song hit #1 on the US iTunes chart, a feat that the album’s lead single ‘Applause‘ failed to achieve.
The album’s official second single ‘Venus‘ will be released next week.
