Despite the fact that her debut album remains unreleased, Azealia Banks has bizarrely released the first single from her second album.
The track, ‘Count Contessa‘, premiered earlier today when it was uploaded to the ‘Liquorice‘ rapper’s SoundCloud page. It is the first single to be lifted from Azealia’s just-announced sophomore LP ‘Fantasea II: The Second Wave‘, which will be released on July 11, 2014.
The questionable move doesn’t make much sense to us as she hasn’t even released the music video for her debut album’s first single yet, however we’ll need to wait and see what happens. It’s a shame that Banks’ career is already in such a web of bad decisions as it could have went very smoothly for her given the success she experienced with breakout hit ‘212‘.
Her new single ‘ATM Jam‘ – featuring Pharrell Williams – will be available on UK iTunes from September 29, and is taken from Banks’ debut album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste‘ – due out in January 2014, 18 months after its original release date.
