Kanye West is set to take his controversial act to MTV‘s 2013 Video Music Awards later this month, as he has been confirmed as the second live act.
West will perform ‘BLKKK SKKKN HEAD‘ – pulled from his latest album ‘Yeezus‘ – at the annual bash when it takes place in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25. The performance will be the rapper’s seventh at the awards ceremony, the most of any male artist in VMA history and tying him only with the Queen of Pop Madonna.
Until now, Lady GaGa has been the only confirmed performer – the 27-year-old will perform her comeback single ‘Applause‘ in her high-profile return to the stage.
In related news, a new promo debuted earlier today for the awards show featuring 20-year-old Miley Cyrus. In the ad, the blonde belle throws a party in the subway to her new single ‘We Can’t Stop‘ – most likely hinting that the singer will perform the track at the awards show in support of her forthcoming album, ‘BANGERZ‘.
