Just 2 hours ago MTV announced that Lady GaGa will make her onstage comeback at this year’s Video Music Awards ceremony.
The annual awards show will be held on August 25, just 6 days after the singer’s yet-untitled new single premieres – the lead single from her third album ‘ARTPOP‘. The performance marks her return to the stage after a 7-month performing hiatus, and will be her first performance following her hip surgery.
The 27-year-old made her VMA debut in 2009 when she stole the show with an electrifying performance of her iconic hit ‘Paparazzi‘. At the peak of her creativity, GaGa proved her worth as a performer despite only being one album into her career at the time.
Now, as she steps into the ‘ARTPOP’ era, the question on everyone’s lips is “Will she be able to pull off another performance as good as ‘Paparazzi‘?”. Only time will tell, but hopefully she will deliver as her comeback could rely on this sole performance – and if the platform is used correctly then this could mark another career-defining moment for the singer. In recent years, the singer became lost in the media monster she had created as the focus shifted to her outlandish behaviours and clothes rather than her genuine musical talent.
Whilst we wait for August 25, bask in the brilliance of the 2009 performance of ‘Paparazzi‘. C’mon GaGa, please don’t let us down!
