NEW MUSIC: Justin Timberlake – “Take Back The Night”

It may have only been 4 months since he released his comeback album but Justin Timberlake is already treating fans to new material. As the second chapter of his third album ‘The 20/20 Experience‘ is set to be released in just over 2 months, Timberlake has released its lead single ‘Take Back The Night‘.

Take Back The Night‘ is a modern-day disco anthem, produced by JT’s trusty right-hand man Timbaland, and the horn-infused dance song shows that Timberlake still knows how to have a good time. Upon the release of ‘20/20‘ in March, some fans were disappointed with JT’s new material as it was such a departure from the R&B-dance music we had last heard on 2006’s ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds‘. However, if ‘Take Back The Night‘ is anything to go by, his fans may be happier with what they hear on ‘The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2‘ when it is released on September 30.

The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2‘ is available to pre-order on iTunes now, and you get ‘Take Back The Night‘ immediately when you pre-order. Listen to ‘Take Back The Night‘ below…

Back in March, producer Questlove revealed that the 32-year-old’s third album was a 2-piece project whilst explaining the meaning behind the title of ‘The 20/20 Experience‘. Referencing the album’s 10-song track listing, Questlove said “10 songs now…10 songs later = 20 vision.” Although, the second half of ‘20/20‘ will infact feature 11 songs as Timberlake decided to add one more song to the track list at the last minute.

“I originally recorded a massive amount of material and decided on the 20 tracks that I wanted on the album over a year ago,” stated Timberlake. “But, when I was mixing and going through all of the songs there were so many that I loved – I couldn’t resist… I had to throw in something extra on the second half.”

Following the release of ‘The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2‘, Timberlake will release both volumes as a compilation album. The ‘Mirrors‘ singer is set to take his entire ‘20/20 Experience‘ on the road with him when he embarks on his second world tour in October. Despite only U.S dates being announced thus far, the singer has promised European dates will follow.
