Beyoncé has released the solo version of her Jay Z collaboration ‘On The Run (Part II)‘ today, as yet another teaser for fans to hear the direction that her music is heading in.
The zany Timbaland-produced track sees the ‘Love On Top‘ vocalist demonstrate the often unheard smooth quality of her voice, as she restrains from “over-doing it” on the hypnotising track. ‘On The Run (Part II)‘ is featured on the 31-year-old’s husband Jay Z‘s new album ‘Magna Carta… Holy Grail‘, and is said to be the sequel to their 2002 collaboration ‘’03 Bonnie & Clyde‘.
Beyoncé – who is currently on the American leg of her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour – has premiered her solo version of the track today, adding to the budding collection of snippets and teasers she has graced her fans with over the past few months. The singer is yet to debut the official single from her upcoming fifth studio album, but has released numerous snippets and has performed some of her new material on her current tour.
The follow-up to 2011’s ‘4‘ has been a work in progress since last year – however, singer-songwriter Ne-Yo (the man behind ‘Irreplaceable‘) told Billboard that Mrs. Carter is still unsure in what direction she wants to go in with her new music. Hopefully an announcement will come soon as fans have been waiting anxiously since the superstar dominated the Superbowl halftime show in February.
