Britney Spears Confirms New Album Out “By End of the Year”

Following the world premiere of her single for The Smurfs 2 soundtrack, Britney Spears called in to On Air With Ryan Seacrest to chat with Ryan about the track and much, much more.

Most exciting of all was when Britney revealed some details about her upcoming eighth studio album. The 31-year-old confirmed that the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Femme Fatale‘ will be released “by the end of the year”. We already know that Will.i.Am has been selected as the executive producer for album 8, but little information has leaked thus far. Yes, we know that an array of producers – including DanjaNaughty Boy and Dev Hynes – are busy working on tracks for the album, but that’s nothing new.

However, a collaboration that all Britney fans wanted to happen desperately on album #7 was William Orbit and unfortunately the tracks he submitted were not taken on. Although, Britney confirmed to Seacrest they are working together for her next project, saying “William Orbit is coming in next week for me to work with.” Britney shares the excitement with her fans as she said she is “really, really excited” to work with him.

Sonically speaking, Britney revealed that the tracks she has recorded so far are “A little different…there’s a lot of guitar.” Also, something which has most fans very excited about is that Britney will be writing in the studio, as she said that she is yet to write in the studio. Hopefully this time around some of the tracks that she co-writes make the final cut, as she did not have one single writing credit on ‘Femme Fatale‘.
