As she continues work on her twelfth studio album, Aussie diva Kylie Minogue has surprised her loyal fans with a new song entitled ‘Skirt‘ as she celebrates her 45th birthday.

Skirt‘ is a house-infused pop track produced by the genius duo Nom De Strip and, most surprisingly, co-written by ‘Single Ladies‘ producer The-Dream. A dubstep remix of the track premiered during Chris Lake‘s DJ set at Pacha Ibiza last night, and was then made available on SoundCloud for the rest of the singer’s fans to hear.

It is expected that ‘Skirt‘ will feature on Kylie’s upcoming album, and that the album version will be less dubstep. The Australian singer has been working with many US producers for her yet-untitled twelfth album, such as Pharrell Williams and Darkchild, alongside singer-songwriter Sia. Listen to the track, below:

It is expected that Kylie’s upcoming album may finally cement her success across the pond as – despite being a recognised music veteran in across Europe, Australia and Asia – she has never taken the US by storm. Back in February, Kylie signed a management deal with Roc Nation – those responsible for Rihanna‘s worldwide domination – and with the right material she could be onto a winner.

With a career spanning 4 decades of success that saw Kylie responsible for many an innovative pop hit, she definitely has the experience and accolades to support her superstar talent. So, whilst we wait to see what the next era holds, let’s celebrate Kylie’s birthday with her by looking back on some of her finest career moments. Happy birthday, Kylie!
