‘Goodies‘ singer Ciara has finally finished recording her upcoming album and, after several delays and pushbacks, she has confirmed that ‘One Woman Army‘ will be available from June 4 (US).
‘OWA‘ will be the singer’s fifth LP following up to her poorly received 2010 effort ‘Basic Instinct‘, which despite receiving positive critic reviews it didn’t succeed commercially. Hopefully, with L.A Reid back on her team, Ciara will make a major return to the charts with her new material.
The album will now be led by the release of ‘Body Party‘, a song that Ciara co-wrote with her current beau Future, as she has abandoned former singles ‘Got Me Good‘ and ‘Sweat‘. The singer confirmed that Nicki Minaj will also appear on the album as she discussed the tracklist, which she is currently finalising with L.A Reid.

It’s a shame to hear that the singer’s pop-dance tracks such as ‘Got Me Good‘ have been cut from the final tracklist, most likely due to the pressure to release a more R&B-friendly record, when Ciara expressed such love for them during their individual promotional runs. Let’s not forget that some of the singer’s most successful singles were pop influenced and hopefully she won’t abandon the sound entirely (see below).
‘One Woman Army‘ will be released June 4 in the US under Epic Records.
