Chris Brown Ready to Return With Sixth Album “X”; Announces New Single

cbcdChris Brown has revealed details about his upcoming sixth studio album as he prepares for his return to the music scene during an interview with Ryan Seacrest.

The follow-up to Brown’s critically-panned fifth album ‘Fortune‘ was originally titled ‘Carpe Diem‘ but, it seems the R&B-pop prince has changed his mind as, the album will now be released under the title of ‘X‘.

The Grammy Award-winning singer revealed to Ryan Seacrest that the album’s first single will be the Diplo-produced ’Fine China’, set to drop on April 1 when its video premieres exclusively on VEVO. Watch the full interview with Ryan below…

Brown has stated that he has strayed away from the Europop sound that dominated his last studio effort and has gone back to the drawing board, hoping to blend all of his preferred genres into one. The ‘Beautiful People singer confirmed that, in addition to Diplo, he has worked with TimbalandPharrell Williams and Danja to create the futuristic and nostalgic sound of ‘X‘.

As far as collaborations go, the Kendrick Lamar-assisted ‘Autumn Leaves‘ is confirmed to feature on the record and Brown revealed he worked on a track called ‘Put It Up‘ with on-off girlfriend Rihanna which may or may not make the cut. Brown is currently choosing the 14-song tracklist from over 50 recorded songs.

X will be released this summer, and the lead single ‘Fine China will premiere April 1 exclusively on VEVO.
