Despite only releasing her second album “Heartbreak On Hold” three months ago in June, Alexandra Burke is hard at work in the studio forming her third studio album which will be the platform for the X Factor winner’s US launch.
“Heartbreak On Hold” had a disappointing performance and suffered quite a lot from being blocked on radio stations following her split with former label Syco, despite the lead single “Elephant” peaking at #3 in the official UK charts.
During a live Q&A with fans on Twitter last night, Alexandra announced that she has been in the studio for the past few months working on the new record with successful artists and producers such as Rico Love, Shontelle and Swizz Beatz.
It’s assumed that the new record will be made up of all new material with the chance that some of her best performing material making an appearance as B-sides or bonus tracks.
The singer’s 2011 collaboration with producer Swizz Beatz, “Show Off”, will feature on her new album after not making the final cut of his album.
Alexandra said that her US debut should be released by the top of the year. She could enjoy some well-deserved success in the States with the right material, so hopefully her new material will consist of surefire hits and break her label of being a “hit-or-miss” artist.
