Young Money alumna Nicki Minaj has shared a mini-documentary with her fans showing her journey to Monday night’s Billboard Awards, where she walked away with 3 awards and plenty of happy fans as she stormed the stage with an explosive performance.

The video shows the rapper rehearsing with famed choreographer Laurieann Gibson, go through soundcheck at the venue and briefly catch up with Madonna, who she collaborated with on multiple songs last year (watch above).

Following Nicki‘s raunchy performance of her latest hit ‘High School‘, which saw her give her boss Lil’ Wayne a lapdance, many of her fans and biggest critics have praised the star for giving, what some have called, her “strongest performance to date”.

Although it seems that the Trinidadian rapper has been around for years now, Minaj‘s star is still rising and she is continuing to grow with each and every project she takes on. The ‘Pink Friday‘ beauty is currently filming her first major movie role in ’The Other Woman‘, where she plays Cameron Diaz‘s assistant, and is said to be working on her third studio album.

Whilst the ‘Super Bass‘ superstar works on her movie and musical ventures, let’s remind ourselves of the brilliant performance she gave at this past Billboard Music Awards, below.

‘High School‘ is the third single to be released from Nicki’s ’Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up‘, which is available in stores and online now.

The single used for Beyoncé‘s H&M summer collection, entitled ‘Standing On The Sun‘, has leaked in full – just one day after her Pepsi single ‘Grown Woman‘ leaked.

Mrs. Carter‘s vocals shine on ‘Standing On The Sun‘, and the laid-back R&B track would be an excellent summer single.

The full version of Beyoncé‘s official Pepsi single ‘Grown Woman‘ has leaked in its entirety, earlier today.

Following the premiere of the singer’s minute-long Pepsi commercial in April, fans of Mrs. Carter have waited impatiently to hear the full version of ‘Grown Woman‘ ahead of the release of Bey’s fifth solo album.

It’s about time that the song has been made available to fans – leaked or not – as the singer has teased them enough as she’s performed the track live on her current ’Mrs. Carter Show World Tour‘ for weeks and still refused to release it.

Beyoncé has leant a helping hand to ‘Single Ladies‘ producer The-Dream‘s latest solo single, entitled ‘Turnt‘.

“Mrs Carter” opens the sexy R&B track with a restrained and raspy voice, and rapper 2 Chainz also features on the track with his own verse later in the track.

‘Turnt‘ is rumoured to be the second single from The-Dream‘s new album ‘IV Play‘, which also features collaborations with Big Sean, Jay-Z and Kelly Rowland.

‘IV Play‘ will be released in the UK on May 27, and one day later in the US.

Miley Cyrus is finally ready to share the music that she’s been cooking up with a host of hip-hop producers for the past 2 years, with the first single being released on June 3.

Last night, at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, Cyrus revealed that her first single ‘We Can’t Stop‘ will be released on iTunes in just 2 weeks time. The track is produced by Mike-WiLL Made It and Miley has described it as “the perfect hybrid” between her sound and the hip-hop producer’s sound.

There’s no word on when the song’s accompanying music video will premiere but spectators are expecting it to premiere shortly after the song release. In an interview with Billboard (below), Miley revealed that the album should be released sometime this fall but she plans on releasing a few singles before the album drops.

Last night saw the music industry celebrate another year at the Billboard Music Awards, which brought many explosive performances from Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj and many, many more!

Spring Breakers star Selena Gomez delivered yet another solid performance of her first solo single ‘Come & Get It‘ last night. Her confidence is growing each time she performs the track, and last night definitely was no different as she commanded the stage with another Western-influenced sultry performance.

R&B maestro Miguel performed his Grammy Award-winning single ’Adorn‘, showcasing his powerhouse vocals in another great performance. It was a pretty standard performance for Miguel, as he’s not one to be inconsistent, but that is until he frog-leaped over the crowd and landed on a girl’s head as he attempted to jump over to the other stage. Television gold.

Chris Brown gave a poor performance of his latest single ‘Fine China‘. Despite his choreography being on top form as per usual, Brown’s vocals were very ropy throughout and after the first verse he sort of gave up and let the backing track do the work for him – allowing him to throw in an “OW!” whenever he felt like it.

Following a slightly flat performance on the American Idol finale, Jennifer Lopez delivered the most energetic performance of the night as she danced her way through the performance of her new single ‘Live It Up‘. Accompanied by Pitbull, the 43-year-old taught her peers how to be the most talked-about person of the night despite not being nominated for any awards. Bravo, J-Lo!

Justin Bieber took to the stage to perform ‘Take You‘, the latest song to be released from his ‘Believe‘ album.

At first, I thought that Taylor Swift‘s performance was going to be a repeat of her 2012 VMAs performance and just for a different song. It kind of was the same performance, but for some reason it worked better this time around. Perhaps it is because ‘22‘ is a much better song than ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together‘ (true) and it is much less whiny (also true). Although, regardless of my personal opinions of Swift’s music, the most impressive thing about the performance was that it truly showed Taylor’s capability – and, boy, did she deliver!

Pitbull took to the stage twice last night as he also performed his own single ‘Feel This Moment‘ with the beautiful Christina Aguilera. The fun performance was simple in production but, then again, it isn’t a very serious song in the first place, is it? Christina made the performance with her diva presence taking over – and as she flaunted that new slimline figure – and a surprise appearance from A-ha frontman Morten Harket.

Will.i.Am and Justin Bieber brought the fun to Billboard with an awesome performance of their smash hit ‘#thatPOWER‘. Performing the track for the first time together, Will and Bieber gave a stellar performance with their killer choreography.

Young Money‘s finest Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Wayne brought the house down with a raunchy rendition of their latest collaboration, ‘High School‘. The performance marked the first time the duo had performed the track live together, and it took an unexpected saucy turn at the end. Fire!
