NEW SONG: M.I.A – “Bring The Noize”

MIABTN

The release of M.I.A‘s fourth studio album ‘Matangi‘ may finally be upon us as its new lead single ‘Bring The Noize‘ premiered yesterday.

Premiering on Zane Lowe‘s radio show, M.I.A definitely brought the noise with the busy, club track. The high-tempo ‘Bring The Noize‘ is drastically different to last year’s chilled ‘Bad Girls‘. ‘Noize‘ hears M.I.A rap at a rapid pace as she, characteristically, vents her political frustration before coming to a soft conclusion which hears the 37-year-old try her hand at singing.

The chorus is centred around the line “bring the noise when we run upon them”, which most are suspecting M.I.A is firing back at her label Interscope. Last year, the label returned the rapper’s album twice – claiming it was “not dark enough”. Following the song’s premiere, last night, the rapper said that ”if I didn’t get ['Bring The Noize'] out right now I definitely would have exploded”.

The 37-year-old also couldn’t give any notice of the album’s release date as it has not been given the green light yet. “I keep finishing the record, handing it in, finishing the record. handing it in.. This was my last stab at it. I’m going to hand it in and wait for it to go out the way albums go out.”

Here’s hoping we get ‘Matangi‘ sooner rather than later!

Mariah Carey Unwraps New Album Title; “The Art of Letting Go”

Mariah Carey is one of the few true divas the music industry has left and, following a few mishaps over the last couple of years, we’re hoping that she can remind the world of the reasons why they fell in love with her.

Set to be released on July 23, Mariah’s fourteenth studio album has been christened ‘The Art of Letting Go‘. Whilst our initial reaction was a bit puzzled, this cryptic tweet that the former American Idol judge made a few days ago explains the meaning behind the title.

Art of Letting Go‘ is MiMi’s first traditional album release in almost 4 years, following up 2009′s ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel‘. The release has been preceded by the release of the 43-year-old’s collaboration with Miguel, ‘#Beautiful‘, which is climbing up the charts week by week.

Here’s hoping that the wait is worth it, and justified by the quality of Mariah’s new material. As the album has been delayed so many times, one would hope so. For now, check out the album’s lead single ‘#Beautiful‘ below – which is available on iTunes now.

Miley Cyrus Teases “We Can’t Stop” Video / Premiering June 19th

MCWCS

2 weeks ago, Miley Cyrus released her first single in almost 3 years – entitled ‘We Can’t Stop‘ – introducing a new sound and image for the 20-year-old. Now, the superstar is ready to take the song’s success to new heights as she readies its music video release.

The music video was shot by famed music video video director Diane Martel - who has worked with everyone from Britney and Beyoncé to N.E.R.D and Snoop Dogg at the end of May. Just days ago, Cyrus announced via her official Twitter account in response to a fan that the video will premiere on VEVO on June 19.

Since then, 2 short teaser videos has surfaced on the singer’s VEVO account to build further hype around the highly-anticipated video. Miley has previously stated the video as being based on true events from a night she experienced with her friends, and confirmed that the song’s producer Mike WiLL-Made It appears in the video. Kanye West Enlists Scott Disick’s Help For “American Psycho”-Inspired “Yeezus” Commercial

KWY

Kanye West may refuse to participate in their E! reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but he sure is keeping things in the family for his new album promo.

Last week, at the L.A listening party for his sixth studio album ‘Yeezus‘, the new father debuted an American Psycho-inspired short-film starring Scott Disick and Kim Kardashian‘s BFF Jonathan Cheban. The short-film takes direct influence from the infamous “Do you like Huey Lewis & The News?” scene in the 2000 psycho-thriller; with Disick in the role of Patrick Bateman and Cheban as Paul Allen, and of course with “Yeezus” himself inspiring the menacing monologue as opposed to Huey Lewis.

Following the L.A listening party, videos of poor quality surfaced onto the internet but only hours ago has the HD version of the short-film premiered. Check it out, below:

Amazing. With no lead single, album artwork or digital pre-order, West has kept the promotion for ‘Yeezus‘ to a minimum with just 2 televised performances on Saturday Night Live. However, he is on track to sell at least 500k in the US as his first-week sales simply by word-of-mouth. Now, the first piece of film released for promotion stars America’s own Scott Disick - Kanye’s eventual brother-in-law who lives his life in front of the cameras for the world to see, something Kanye ironically doesn’t believe in - referencing his own former behaviours and inspired by one of the most iconic films of the century. Genius.

And this is before mentioning the fact that Kanye‘s first child with Kim Kardashian was born just 3 days before the album drops – now that is publicity that one just cannot buy. Congratulations are in order for “Kimye“, and I’m sure when Billboard announces its #1 album next Tuesday the couple will have yet another reason to celebrate.

Britney Spears Confirms New Album Out “By End of the Year”

BSOLL

Following the world premiere of her single for The Smurfs 2 soundtrack, Britney Spears called in to On Air With Ryan Seacrest to chat with Ryan about the track and much, much more.

Most exciting of all was when Britney revealed some details about her upcoming eighth studio album. The 31-year-old confirmed that the follow-up to 2011′s ‘Femme Fatale‘ will be released “by the end of the year”. We already know that Will.i.Am has been selected as the executive producer for album 8, but little information has leaked thus far. Yes, we know that an array of producers – including DanjaNaughty Boy and Dev Hynes - are busy working on tracks for the album, but that’s nothing new.

However, a collaboration that all Britney fans wanted to happen desperately on album #7 was William Orbit and unfortunately the tracks he submitted were not taken on. Although, Britney confirmed to Seacrest they are working together for her next project, saying ”William Orbit is coming in next week for me to work with.” Britney shares the excitement with her fans as she said she is “really, really excited” to work with him.

Sonically speaking, Britney revealed that the tracks she has recorded so far are ”A little different…there’s a lot of guitar.” Also, something which has most fans very excited about is that Britney will be writing in the studio, as she said that she is yet to write in the studio. Hopefully this time around some of the tracks that she co-writes make the final cut, as she did not have one single writing credit on ‘Femme Fatale‘.

Listen to the interview in its entirety below….

NEW SONG: Britney Spears – “Ooh La La”

BSOLL

Literally moments ago, Britney Spears‘ brand new song ‘Ooh La La‘ received its world premiere on On Air With Ryan Seacrest.

For those who don’t know yet, ‘Ooh La La‘ was recorded for The Smurfs 2 soundtrack and will be played during the end credits of the animated film. Produced by Dr. Luke and co-written by Bonnie McKee, the synth-pop song is set out to be another sure-fire hit for the pop veteran.

An early version of ‘Ooh La La‘ leaked last month but Britney’s team didn’t let it change their plans and have waited until today to premiere the final version of the song. Given that the song was recorded for a kid’s film it doesn’t have Britney’s sex appeal, but upon its initial leak the track was praised for its simplicity and universal pure pop appeal.

The track wonderfully blends bubblegum pop and faux-dubstep dance to satisfy both the kids watching the film and the 31-year-old’s loyal fans. Following the radio premiere, Britney called in to chat with Ryan Seacrest and revealed that her 2 sons – Sean Preston and Jayden James – are in the track’s music video with her. The music video is set to premiere within the next few weeks.

Check out the final product of ‘Ooh La La‘, below… Continue reading
